My Cordless Blower Vac is losing power

Modified on Thu, 11 Jun at 10:40 AM

Overview

If your Cordless Blower Vac is losing suction or blowing power, the issue is usually caused by a low battery charge or a blockage in the air path. Before assuming a fault, it is important to carry out a few simple checks to restore normal performance.

This guide explains how to check the battery, identify blockages, and safely clear any obstructions from the machine.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Check the Battery Charge

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
  • If performance drops quickly, remove the battery and recharge it completely.
  • Confirm the battery is securely inserted and locked into place.

Step 2: Check for Blockages

  • Inspect the suction and blower tube for any visible debris.
  • Check the collection bag (if fitted) for clogging or overfilling.
  • Remove any leaves, dust, or obstructions that may restrict airflow.

Step 3: Clear Blockages Safely Using the Lever Method

⚠️ Important Safety Note:
Always wear protective gloves and safety goggles before carrying out any blockage clearing.

To clear using the machine:

  • Remove the collection bag (required for this process).
  • Set the machine to maximum speed (setting 5).
  • Locate the black lever on the left side of the unit.
  • Move the lever back and forth repeatedly to help dislodge the blockage.
  • Allow the machine to clear through airflow.

Step 4: Manual Blockage Removal (If Required)

⚠️ Safety First: Always remove the battery before touching internal parts.

  • Switch off the machine completely.
  • Remove the battery to ensure it cannot power on.
  • Carefully check inside the tube and housing for debris.
  • Remove any blockage by hand using gloves.

Step 5: Reassemble and Test

  • Refit the collection bag if needed.
  • Reinsert the battery securely until it clicks into place.
  • Switch the machine on and test at a lower speed first.
  • Gradually increase to maximum setting (5) to confirm normal operation.
