This article covers basic troubleshooting steps you can take if the blades are not moving or cutting.
Note
Please do not use your hedge trimmer on foliage that exceeds the cutting capacity stated in your manual or technical data chart (typically between 14mm–24mm, depending on the model).
Checking for Debris or Damaged Blades
- Visually inspect the blades to ensure there is no debris or material preventing movement.
- Always make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged before removing any blockages.
- Check the blades for damage, as damaged blades may prevent proper operation. If damage is found, a local garden equipment repair specialist should be able to assist.
- Ensure the blades are properly lubricated. We recommend using a suitable multi-purpose grease.
If the Issue Persists
If there is no visible blockage or damage, the issue is likely related to the internal gearing mechanism.
Do not attempt to open or dismantle the machine, as it is an electrical appliance and requires specialist repair.
