Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Assembly
- Insert the lower handle sections onto the mounting points on the scarifier body
- Secure using the self-tapping screws provided
- Attach the middle handles using the supplied screws and nuts
Ensure all fixings are tightened securely before use.
Step 2: Attach the Upper Handle
- Align the upper handle with the middle handle sections
- Insert the fixing bolts through the aligned holes
- Fit the cord strain relief
- Secure using the supplied screws and nuts
Important: Ensure the handle is firmly assembled before connecting power.
Step 3: Secure the Power Cable
- Loop the power cable and feed it through the bottom guide point
- Attach it to the cable hook
- Route the cable along the handle
- Secure using the supplied cable clips
Important: Keep the cable clear of the working area at all times.
Step 4: Exchanging the Cartridge
- Remove the bearing shell bolts using the Allen key
- Lift the bearing side first to remove the cartridge
- Remove the bearing holder from the scarifying roller
- Refit the bearing holder onto the raking cartridge
- Slot the square drive bushing onto the drive axle
- Secure the bearing shell bolts using the Allen key
Important: Ensure all parts are correctly seated before operation.
Step 5: Operating the Scarifier
- Press and hold the safety lock button
- Pull the switch lever to start the machine
The scarifier will begin rotating once both controls are engaged.
Step 6: Adjust Working Depth
The working depth controls how deeply the blades penetrate the lawn.
- Locate the lever on the left-hand side of the machine
- Lift the handle and slot it into the desired position
- Select a suitable depth depending on lawn conditions
Lower settings: light moss removal
Higher settings: deeper thatch removal
Important Safety Information
- Always ensure the power cable is secured and kept away from blades
- Never adjust or maintain the machine while it is connected to power
- Always disconnect from mains before changing cartridges
- Keep hands and feet away from moving parts during operation
