How do I move the chain on my Electric Chainsaw
This article explains what to check if the chain on your electric chainsaw is not moving.
⚠️ Safety Notice
Ensure the chainsaw is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any inspection or adjustments.
Wear suitable protective gloves when handling the chain.
Possible Causes & Basic Checks
Check the Chain Brake
- Ensure the chainsaw is switched on and ready for use.
- Check that the chain brake is fully disengaged.
- If the chain brake is engaged, the chain will not rotate.
Check the Chain and Bar Condition
- Inspect the chain and guide bar for any visible damage.
- If either the chain or bar is damaged, they will need to be replaced before further use.
Chain Tension
- Ensure the chain is correctly tensioned.
- Each chain link should be able to lift slightly from the bar, but the drive links should remain seated in the guide bar groove.
- The chain should be able to rotate smoothly around the bar when moved by hand (using gloves).
If the Issue Persists
If the chain still does not move after completing the checks above, please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance.
✔️ Summary
- Ensure the chain brake is disengaged
- Check for damage to the chain and bar
- Confirm correct chain tension
- Test chain movement safely with gloves

My Electric Chainsaw will no longer oil the chain
This article explains what to check if your electric chainsaw is not lubricating the chain correctly.
⚠️ Safety Notice
Ensure the chainsaw is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any checks.
Possible Causes & Basic Checks
Check Chain Oil Level
- Ensure the oil reservoir is filled with the correct chain lubricating oil.
- Refill if the oil level is low or empty.
Check for Oil Leaks
- Inspect the chainsaw for any visible oil leaks.
- If any leaks are present, please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance.
How to Check Oil is Being Delivered
To test whether the chainsaw is lubricating correctly:
- Hold the chainsaw at approximately a 45-degree angle to the ground.
- Run the chainsaw briefly.
- You should see oil being ejected and a light trace left on the ground.
If the Issue Persists
If no oil is being delivered to the chain, there may be a blockage in the oil lines. In this case, please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance.
✔️ Summary
- Check chain oil level and type
- Inspect for oil leaks
- Test oil delivery at a 45-degree angle

My Electric Chainsaw will not engage/disengage the chain brake
- This article explains how to resolve issues with the chain brake on your electric chainsaw.

How do I get the chain to tension correctly on my Electric Chainsaw
This article explains how to correctly adjust the chain tension on your electric chainsaw.
⚠️ Safety Notice
An incorrectly tensioned chain may break, derail, or come off the guide bar, which can cause serious injury.
Ensure the chainsaw is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any adjustments.
Test the chain tension before each use and check it regularly during operation.
Procedure
- Disengage the chain brake.
- Turn the adjustment knob anti-clockwise to loosen the chain.
- Turn the adjustment knob clockwise to tighten the chain.
- Adjust until the chain is correctly tensioned.
- When lifting a single chain link, there should be a gap of approximately 2–3 mm between the chain and the guide bar.
Tips
- Adjust chain tension regularly during the run-in period.
- Re-tighten immediately if the chain becomes loose, wobbles, or comes out of the guide groove.
- Chain tension affects the lifespan of both the chain and guide bar, so it should be checked frequently.
- Chain tension may change as the chain heats up during use and may require readjustment.
- New chains typically require more frequent adjustments until fully run in.
If the Issue Persists
If you are still unable to tension the chain correctly, please contact our Technical Support Team for further assistance.
✔️ Summary
- Disengage chain brake before adjusting
- Use adjustment knob to tighten or loosen chain
- Maintain 2–3 mm lift from bar
- Check tension regularly during use
