My Electric Chainsaw will not engage/disengage the chain brake

- This article explains how to resolve issues with the chain brake on your electric chainsaw.
⚠️ Safety Notice
Ensure the chainsaw is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any checks.
Do not apply pressure to the On/Off switch or stop button when operating the chain brake.
Operating the Chain Brake
To engage the chain brake:
- Push the hand guard forward away from the front handle.
To disengage the chain brake:
- Pull the hand guard backwards towards the front handle.
The chain brake must be correctly positioned before the chainsaw is used.
If the Chain Brake Feels Stiff or Will Not Move
- Ensure the chainsaw is not switched on.
- Check that no pressure is being applied to the On/Off switch or stop button.
- Move the hand guard firmly but smoothly between positions (forward to engage, backward to disengage).
